Harbour Basin
Aberaeron, four miles north of New Quay and
once a busy little harbour town. With its Georgian
and picturesque appearance it's now a tourist
attraction with its small shops and craft centre
selling local produce. The harbour today has good
launching and mooring facilities for small craft and visiting boats, a no go area for Jet Ski's
so don't bring them.

With the River Aeron running down through the Vale of Aeron to the sea at this picturesque harbour town, Aberaeron was once a busy little port. The harbour
was in two half's so to speak, the north side was known as the Liverpool side
as all boats came to and from Liverpool, the south side was known as
the Birkenhead side as boats came to and from Birkenhead. Building of
boats was also another major industry, this was undertaken on the
South Beach. Today Aberaeron is a peaceful and picturesque little town
with its rows of colourful houses either side of the harbour.
A good selection of cafes, restaurants, take-a-way's and public houses
serving meals, a good range of shops selling local craft's and gifts
are available. Ample car parking either side of the harbour (no charge)
also opposite the fire station (charge).
You'll also find a very good selection of accommodation in Aberaeron
ranging from Bed and Breakfast to a four star Hotel all offering
excellent Welsh hospitality, food and comfort to find out more on
