New Quay Lifeboat Station Open Day |
| This year’s Lifeboat Station open day is on Sunday 3rd August, kick-off from around 1100hrs. Come along view our ‘Mersey Class’ Lifeboat (inside and out) and ‘D Class’ Inshore, ask all those questions that need asking (non-family matters). Souvenir shop will be open, fun and games for the rug-rats, lifeboat - launch coxswain permitting (that’s the one with yellow feet). So come along and support our lifeboat and crew. |
Sunday 13th April |
| ALB ‘Frank and Lena Clifford’ with ILB ‘Amy Lea’ were paged and launched to assist in a search of the area for a 40year old male and 9year old lad that were reported missing. The search with S.A.R helicopter 122 from RAF Valley, Police ground and air (Helicopter) search teams, Coastguards and mountain rescue team. The lifeboat search continued until 0120hrs when no person or persons were found and the lifeboats returned to station at 0128hr. The ILB was re-housed and the ALB was beached and recovered the following morning (Monday 14th April).

Wednesday 2nd April |
ALB ‘Frank and Lena Clifford’ launched at 0930hrs when the fishing boat ‘Catherine Arden’ with 2 crew on board required assistance after fouling her prop 4 miles south of New Quay Head.
On arriving on scene the lifeboat placed a tow to the Catherine Arden and towed her back to New Quay arriving at 1040hrs. Catherine Arden was placed on her mooring, lifeboat was then recovered from the beach and washed, hoovered and feed ready to take up her duties. |
